Tissar Chausar strategy: how to show first and lose fewer points

Updated 25 October 2026

Tissar Chausar is a race: one Chausar (4 cards) and two Tissars (3 cards each), with at least one pure run. The winner shows with 0 points and everyone else counts what is left in their hand. Good play means getting close to a show quickly, while keeping your points low in case someone else shows first.

1. Build the pure run first

Without a pure run (a run of one suit with no wild card standing in) no show counts, however many wild cards you hold. So from the first draw, look for two or three cards of one suit that are next to each other and build that run before anything else.

2. Use the Yarak (wild cards) well

3. Choose flexible cards

Two cards side by side (5♣ 6♣) can become a run with a 4 or a 7: two ways in. Two cards with a gap (5♣ 7♣) need exactly the 6: one way in. Keep the flexible ones and throw the gapped ones first.

4. Read the open pile

5. Cut your points late in the deal

If someone shows, you pay for every card not in a meld: A, K, Q and J count 10, number cards their face value, wild cards 0. Once the deal goes on for a while, throw your high unmatched cards first. The most anyone can lose in one deal is 80 points, and a wrong show also costs 80.

6. Know when to show

Show only when your 10 cards plus the card you took really make Chausar + Tissar + Tissar with at least one pure run. Check twice: a wrong show is the most expensive mistake in the game.
