Each player holds 4 cards, with 4 cards face up on the table. Play a card that matches a table card to collect it, or match the top of your opponent's collection to rob their whole stack. Aces are worth 20 points, picture cards 10 and the rest 5. A game takes about five minutes, which makes it perfect for a quick rematch.

2. Tissar Chausar: rummy for two
A 10-card rummy from Punjab. Draw and throw until your hand makes one group of four (Chausar) and two groups of three (Tissars). With only two players every card your opponent picks up tells you what they are building, so it becomes a real battle of reading each other.
